Ladies and gentlemen,
I am honored to stand before you today on this momentous occasion as we welcome a new aircraft to our national carrier's fleet. This event marks a significant milestone in our nation's aviation history, and I am truly delighted to be a part of this special moment.
Our national carrier has always been a symbol of our country's progress and connectivity. With the addition of this new aircraft, we are not only enhancing our airline's capabilities but also reinforcing our commitment to providing world-class service to our passengers.
This aircraft is not just a machine of steel and technology; it represents the dreams, aspirations, and hard work of countless individuals who have dedicated themselves to the aviation industry. It is a testament to the dedication of our airline's employees, the ingenuity of our engineers, and the trust of our passengers.
The aviation sector has faced its share of challenges, especially in recent times. The global pandemic has tested the resilience of our industry, and I commend our airline for adapting to these challenges with unwavering determination. We have noted that in the past two years, Zambia Airways was voted by Zambians and awarded trophies by the office of The President as ‘The Most Transformed and Innovative organization of Zambia’ in June 2022 and ‘The Most Preforming, Ethical and Responsive Public Institution of Zambia in June 2023.
As we move forward, we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew while providing efficient and comfortable travel experiences.
The arrival of this new aircraft not only signifies our airline's growth but also showcases our commitment to sustainability. We are investing in more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future.
As we welcome this aircraft to our national carrier's fleet, we also welcome the opportunities it brings. This aircraft will open new routes, connect more cities, and strengthen our global presence. It will facilitate business and trade, promote tourism, and allow our citizens to explore the world with ease.
This Aircraft is a milestone in the Aviation history of Zambia as it is the first ever locally registered Boeing 737-800 Aircraft, in the aviation history of Zambia
I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to the dedicated team behind this acquisition. To the CEO and all members of Zambia Airways, pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, and all those who have worked tirelessly to make this day possible – thank you for your commitment and hard work.
